In “real life”, my name is Amy. I live outside of Knox, Indiana – a small rural community close to where I was born and have spent most of my life – with my boyfriend Rich, our dog Aoife, and multiple cats. I have a degree in accounting, hold a license to practice public accounting (CPA), and have earned several coaching certifications… but my current occupation is homemaker. I have an adult son and a beautiful granddaughter, plus my two stepsons (none of whom live with us). I love reading, gardening, and knitting. And from-the-bean chocolate. This is my life, it is beautiful, and I’m happy.
But… there is more to me than that. Unbeknownst to everyone around me, I also have a secret identity. Underneath all the surface stuff, I am a femme fatale who goes by Dangereuse. Tu peux m’appeler Dangereuse. Who is the “Dangereuse” person? She is the me that I’m trying to remember… the woman behind all of life’s gunk and stories. She’s the me I want to be: one who feels and moves on; who loves unconditionally; who has a certain understated glamour -mysterious, genuine, stylish, sophisticated…
My purpose is to empower women “of a certain age” to step into their secret (true) identity and own their inner femme fatale. To be the beautiful, sophisticated, and sexy lady who lives underneath the everyday façade. Will you walk into my parlour?
Quick note on the use of French… I think it is a beautiful language and it (in my mind, at least) goes with the whole femme fatale theme. However, I do not really speak French. I can come up with close to the correct pronunciation, syntax, and grammar (and please feel free to let me know if I make errors), and it sounds good in my head, but it loses a lot when spoken with a midwestern accent. (Side note: have you ever noticed that English is lovely when spoken with a French accent, but the reverse doesn’t hold?) This site is and will continue to be primarily in English with a bit of French thrown in here and there (just to spice things up a bit).
